Lubrication 1. Disconnect the handpiece from the hose.
2. Place 3 to 4 drops of lubricant into the drive air port of handpiece (see picture). Lubrication should be completed after each dental procedure. 3. Reattach to hose then depress the foot pedal blowing air through the handpiece for 15 to 20 seconds to remove debris and excess lubricant. A paper towel can be used to contain expelled lubricant. For push button handpieces, it is recommended that the autochuck is periodically cleaned and lubricated. Remove the bur, place 1-2 drops of lubricant into the bur port. Work the chuck mechanism to distribute the cleaner/lubricant by repeatedly pressing the button. With the push button depressed, insert and remove a bur several times to break-up remaining debris. |
