Compressor |
If you have an Ultima 500 I, your system is equipped with a single head compressor.
1. The regulator is on the left side of the compressor. The pressure to the gauge is preset to (65-70 psi) at the manufacturer. The pressure should never exceed 70 psi. The Tank Pressure Gauge is on the right side of the compressor and is approximately 120 psi. When the compressor is set to Auto, the compressor will build pressure to approximately 120 psi. As air is utilized, the tank pressure will continually drop to approximately 80 psi, at which point the compressor will automatically turn on to build the pressure back to approximately 120 psi and automatically shut off. ![]() 2. The Ultima 500 compressor is equipped with an Auto Drain System, see Page 16 of the user's manual. The Auto Drain System automatically purges the air holding tank for 2 seconds for every 30 minutes the power to the unit is on. This feature significantly extends the working life of the compressor preventing rust inside the tank. The fluid from the Auto Drain system will collect in the Collection Bottle that is attached to the inside of the dental unit above the compressor. The Collection Bottle should be emptied and cleaned weekly, at a minimum.. Note: Allowing any amount of fluid to build up in the Collection Bottle will cause overspray on the inside of the Unit. 3. The oil level on the dental unit should be checked regularly. This should be done before the unit is turned on. An access hole is located under the back door where the oil level sight glass is located. Oil level should be 1/2 to 2/3 full. See Fig. 1 and Fig. 2 on Page 13 of the user's manual. |
